Time for a bit of France Passion

Tues 18th April

Time to move on from Le Louvarel although we really enjoyed our stay there and would have remained if the weather had been good. The pitch was great particularly because no-one parked opposite us the entire time and it was well positioned for the toilet block and reception. The only thing about the site we would have changed would be the temperature of the water in the showers.

We said goodbye to Marije and headed off for a long days drive south. All we had decided on was that Vienne or Valence would be good for overnight, but beyond that, nothing. In the end we concluded that we need to use our France Passion membership, which gives free motorhome stops at farms, vineyards and other local producers. All that is asked is that you look at their products with no pressure to buy.

Danny drove all day and we ended up at France Passion site ‘Huileries Richard’ at Montoison around 5pm. A small factory on the outskirts of a small village. Their showroom was open till 7pm selling their own olive and nut oils, all sourced from their various properties in Provence, as well as olives, tapenades, nut products, wine and toiletries. Some small purchases were made, and full marks to the 2 boys in the shop for their warm welcome, good humour and attempts to educate us on their products.

We parked on their car park overlooking the pair of donkeys in the field, and were disinclined to wander into the village. A strong wind was buffeting the van and we decided against putting the satellite dish up. An early night, read our books and were serenaded to sleep by the wind.
